Japan
In 2011 I had the opportunity to do a month long residency with HeadSpace Studios in Nara Japan. During this residency I worked (and often slept) in the studio space upstairs from the bar Jamie of HeadSpace also ran.
This was the first time I had been able to focus on a body of work and I spent my days exploring and documenting Japan and then creating a series of drawings, prints and paintings which I later exhibited in a solo show at Soho Gallery in Osaka.
Drawings
The drawings I made during the residency relied heavily on the imagery I recorded during my exploration of Japan.

Throughout my time in Japan I was lucky to collaborate with a number of artists including KT who was based in Nara which is where my temporary studio was based. I also had an opportunity to visit Hiroshima to stay with and collaborate with internationally known artist Suiko.
